The area
Braunlage is the ideal place for a wonderful holiday. The campsite is very centrally located and therefore ideal as a starting point for many different excursions.
Since we are open all year round, you can experience the area in winter and in summer.
Winter
Braunlage is the place for winter sports in Northern Germany and in the Harz Mountains! The ski area is only 3 km from the campsite. You can ski and snowboard here on the Wurmberg. This is an approximately 1,000 meter high mountain that you can take a gondola (the Wurmbergseilbahn) up. ​
There are different types of slopes on the Wurmberg. The area has a total of 15 different pistes with a total length of 12 km. Tobogganing, cross-country skiing or hiking in the beautiful winter landscape are also possible. You can even access a cross-country ski trail directly from the campsite.
Summer
In the Harz National Park you can experience a very sporty day, for example hiking, mountain biking or cycling. You can take a cable car to the nearby Wurmberg and enjoy the beautiful view. The bike park is also located here, where you can go downhill on a mountain bike or monster scooter.
There are several beautiful villages nearby that are worth visiting. You can also take a steam train, explore one of the museums or take a walk through the treetops. In short, a lot to do!
